ThinkAid Foundation was established by Henry Kofi Adane (Borga 1) to support the less privileged people in the deprived communities in Berekum and Ghana as a whole.
Speaking on behalf of the CEO of Thinkaid, the Public Relations Officer of the Foundation, Nana Akua Agyeiwaa said, the foundation is doing all that it can to support education in the Berekum Municipality and will not relent in assisting other sectors such as social interventions.
According to the Secretary of the organisation, an official appeal was made to them for assistance at the time most of the children do not have chairs to sit on in the school while others also resort to sitting on benches for their studies.
The foundation acted upon the request from Mr Ferka Amos, one of the teachers at the school, and supported the school with dual desks with financial assistance coming from the CEO of the Foundation, Henry Kofi Adane (Borga1)- UK, Mr Fleance Kofi Kyere, a native of Kato and also a former student of Kato M/A JHS, Mr Morrison Gyabaa (Morrison Alla-pa) and Dominic Kwasi Gyan,(the Grandson of Mr Gyan) who also lives in the UK.
The Headmistress of Kato M/A JHS, Mrs Victoria Ohenewaa also expressed her gratitude to the Thinkaid foundation for such marvellous support to the school by supplying them with dual desks.
She added that the desk arrived at the time the school needed them most because the furniture for children in the school are not enough for the children which have led to some of the children struggling to get chairs to sit on and others also sitting on benches.
She, therefore, called on other benevolent organisations and individuals to emulate what the Thinkaid foundation has done since the school lacks a lot of teaching and learning materials. She said, most prominent people have passed through the school since it was the first school to be established in the Kato community.
She also appealed to those who have benefited from the school to come back and help their alma mater.
